MRWA Bridges

Project Overview

Fortec was engaged through sister company, Ertech, on contract 156/15 for the refurbishment to timber bridges 950 and 952 crossing the Swan River at Garratt Road in the Perth metropolitan area.

The river crossings are among the earliest to be built in Perth with bridge 950 constructed in 1935 and bridge 952 constructed 37 years later in 1972.

Bridge 950 is currently the longest timber bridge in Western Australia and was added to the State Heritage list in 2009.
