Scope of Works

  • Using our own synchronised hydraulic jacking system, we met the criteria set out by Main Roads by using four jacking points at each pier to simultaneous lift each pier / abutment in one operation
  • To facilitate this process, we implemented a single lane closure traffic management plan, using temporary traffic lights to stop traffic during the synchronised lifting and lowering operations of the bridge
  • Once the bridge was lifted, existing bearings and grout pads were removed and new grout pads poured using a high strength epoxy mortar which reached 50Mpa in two hours. This enabled the bridge to be lowered down onto the new bearings with minimal interruption to the flow of traffic
