Australia’s largest child advocacy centre is being built on a heritage site at Midland’s historic railway workshops.


Fortec was awarded the contract to design and construct the post tensioned slabs from levels 1-4, the design consisted of approximately 5750m2 of suspended slab area with 28T of PT and 50T of reinforcement.

The scope included:

  • Design and detail post tensioned floors.
  • Fix recess forms and anchorages.
  • Place and fix ducting.
  • Install tendons.
  • Stress tendons.
  • Grout tendons.


  • All works were self-performed by Fortec.
  • Completed to budget.
  • Design and site works completed on programme.
